Love and Miss you

Sorry, I have been MIA the last few weeks, I have had a very sad 10 days, and I am going to need some time for myself and family.. 1st my dads had to have heart surgery which was a bit scary qnd I went to WV for that, but then he started doing well within a couple of days and right now health wise doing VERY well,.. a few days after I got there I got a phone call my grandma was taken to the hospital, then on Oct. 24th my grandma passed away due to a split/torn aorta.. I came home Thursday for my Grandmother's funeral Friday and then Friday night I got a phone call from my dad, that my step mom had been admitting in the hospital, this is a very long story and right now I just can't go into it, it is a little much for me to handle as I had just spent a whole week with her and had no idea....., so back to WV I went, her brain had been damaged to far for recovery. She was on life support up until early Wed Nov 1st, around 2:30am, and passed away a little before 3am, My dad will be moving in with me here in the next 2/3 weeks sometime after he takes care of his affairs and hers, and I will be going back and forth from home and WV... So I will be extremely busy, and I am just a bit overwhelmed with all of the events taking place around me, but my FileKutz is and always has been a release for me, but I can't say how much or when I will be online.. Some of the DT ladies will still hold challenges and I will send them as I can.. but please don't expect to much from me for a few weeks. I will not be keeping up with the forum, or all of the blogs right now.. as much as I usually do, and that will be it for awhile, unless I get a chance or just need a escape.

Hi there fellow crafters! Sorry, I was so MIA last month, so much going on with kids starting school and then I decided to change internet providers and WOW was that an experience!! Living in a small town, out in the country is not fun when looking for providers for your area :) But, I am all back up and going and things have settled down a little with the kids, but life is still crazy with 4 boys: and 1st year for each one; 1 in high school; 1 in middle school, 1 in kindergarden and 1 in preschool.. so I have 4 different school calendars and 2 football schedules.. plus normal daily life! Now here is my take on the Challenge and the file: I used a picture from my cousins wedding, which was one of my fav pictures from the wedding. I had so much fun seeing and spending time with my Large family!! It was a blast and one wedding I will not forget :) I have 15 cousins and almost seen ALL of them. My cousin who got married was Just B.E.A. Utiful in her wedding dress! And she was just glowing and smiling all night long! I loved seeing her SO HAPPY!

Why do we call this a "Creative Design Team" Well, I'm the file Designer so you all would be "Creating" projects with my designs.

I am looking to add to my CT for the next 12 Months.. CT term will run for 1 year.

I will also be looking for Guest CT members. So please apply to be considered for a Guest position.

I'm looking for super crafty people that use cutter files, that love to post to forums, yahoo groups, on your blog. Any where else you like and willing to post on my CT blog.

And help me with new file ideas. If you need a file for some thing, Let me know. I'm always looking for new ideas.

Requirements for CT:

You will be required to post 1 projects Per month (cards, layouts, altered projects or any thing else using my files). You will get my file of your choice for free to use. You can ask for and do up to 4 projects a month. Its up to you. But at least 1 is required per month for requested files. And 1 project a month is required for your take on the FileKutz Challenge. You can view our blog http://filekutzdesignscdt.blogspot.com/ to see what the other ladies have been doing, to give you idea's of how our team works.

You are required to post your finished project using my files at least 2 places. One is Our CT blog http://filekutzdesignscdt.blogspot.com/ which I will give you access to upon your joining the team. And at least one other place you like to post, for ex your blog, but you can post to as many places as you like and where you like.

You are required to email me a finished picture (any size above 600x600 is fine) and a detailed description of what you did and used for your project before you can request a new file.

If you have a blog. I would like for you to post it there as well. And list my Store name, Title of file and file number used along with store link in your post. I can help you will any thing you need help with.

I will send you a formal team member guidelines and requirements to read and return to me letting me know you are good with the requirements.

New FileKutz Challenge and Free File

Poets, songwriters and philosophers have all written, sung and lectured about TIME....the sweet rewards, the tragic loss of, the thief, the ravisher, the treasure, the pleasure. This weekend's challenge also revolves around TIME. LisaJane has created an absolute treasure of a file that includes clock faces, hands and numbers, even roman numerals. There are so many options in this file, you will be able to use it over and over and get a different look each time.

My challenge to you is to simply create a layout/card/project that includes this file AND the word "time" somewhere on your project. The way you decide to use the file is entirely up to you...use it as a background, an embellishment or part of a saying or title. Time may be used in any form on your layout also....borrow from a song, a saying, or by itself. (I am sure you can think of millions but just in case, you can find some "time" songs and sayings HERE and HERE .)

You will have the rest of the week and weekend to create your layout as the submission deadline will be May 23rd at 12:00pm EST and winners will be announced here on this blog soon after. A random winner will be chosen from the submissions to receive an additional free file of your choice from FILEKUTZ. **Please use the "add your link" button at the bottom of this post to link up your submitted project

For my layout, I kept hearing Cyndi Lauper's classic "Time after Time" running over and over in my head and I just love the unconditional meaning of the lyrics "If you fall, I will catch you" so I incorporated that into this layout about my son. I wanted to use the file as a background so I chose the hands and numerals I wanted to use, cut them out and then used Black Diamond stickles on them to give them a shiny finish like a metal clock would have.

I hope you get a chance to play with this really great file and enter the challenge. And don't forget to subscribe to this blog so that you can be notified of upcoming file challenges to get you inspired and motivated to complete those layouts.

Welcome Everyone!! I was just thinking it has been almost a year now since I have been blogging.. and I have found some great blogs and I want to follow more! As most of you know I love scrapbooking, paper crafts and designing.. and my number 1 thing is I love finding, learning and seeing new tips, tricks and tutorials for scrapbooking, card making, paper crafts, ect. These things give me great inspiration in my own scrapbooking and designing. So I thought.. I would do a post and ask YOU to list your blog here so I can follow you and share your creative idea's on my blog roll!!

I have done the blogger search, but never can find what I am really looking for.. I mostly find a blog I like by visiting my followers blogs!! So if you have stopped by and you have a blog that has ANYTHING to do with scrapbooking, digital, hybrid, cards, paper crafts, .. PLEASE leave a comment here with your blog address or follow me and I will follow you!!

Also FileKutz sends a newsletter out every 3 months, and I am going to start finding inspiration things from others blogs and add them to our newsletter, with the author's permission of course and a link back to the original blog!! I do have some tips for cutting files like this, with lots of small parts..

1. Make sure your blade is sharp or new.. I use a seperate blade for cutting like this that I swap out when I am done cuttin detailed cuts.

2. Turn your paper upside down and do a double cut, it gives smaller cut a much better cut and if you have a white core paper you won't see the white core cutting upside down. (Just make sure you flip your design, if needed)

3. If you have adjustable rollers on your machine move them to be on top of the paper, to hold in place better when doing a double cut.

4. Ungroup or Unweld the whole file (if it is large and has small parts inside) and cut the inside pieces before you cut the outside stroke/line. This will save you from cutting up your small parts and getting broking pieces on your finished background and small pieced files.

5. If your 1st cut don't come out well, inlarge the or outline the outside stroke just a little, then delete/remove the original outside stroke, then cut small pieces 1st, then cut the new outline you made.

6. Some machine's are just not cut out for cutting small pieces.. if this is the case with your machine and you can't cut a file of mine because of small pieces, email me and tell me about it, your issue and the machine/program you use, and I will see if I can redesign with a little larger pieces (I can usually do this in most cases).. as I have a few times before for a customer who uses a Silhoutte machine and has to cut smaller due to the max cutting of 11x8".

"Spring Is Here"

Have you seen the April Challenge that Sharon is hosting over at VDBC?? Well if not head over to the VDBC forum to check out her Monthly Challenge Spring is here!!

This Challenge runs from today April 1 to April 30.

This challenge is to make some thing spring related. It can be just spring color. It can be Easter, Mothers day, Birthday. You name it, it just has to look like Spring.

Meaning: Spring Colors ( either bright or pastel shades)

You can make any thing you like. It can be a Card, A layout, A Project, or any thing you would like to make. Just use spring colors.

(**As always, if you use a cutter file must be from one of the designers here at VDBC)

And this has to be some thing new (not posted any where) as this is a month long challenge. That gives you time to make some thing new.

I've been working feverishly to finish up my Bald Eagle scrapbook by the time we leave here in two weeks. It's been great fun, but I will be glad to get back to some different types of layouts and be able to start on our trip through Alaska last summer. The Bald Eagle scrapbook will contain 28 layouts.

SUPPLIES USED: K&Company Julianne patterned paper and mats, Kraft cardstock, Ranger Tim Holtz Distress ink (Antique Linen, Weathered Wood), Judikins Treasure Cube and Textiles Cube stamp, DCWV Neutrals cardstock, Bazzill Basics Just the Edge, Stampin Up Notes and Details and Dot Dot Dot stamps, Eagle cut file by FileKutz by LisaJane, Smooch pearlized ink, Sketch by PageMaps 2 (page 104), Font: Evie's hand

TECHNIQUE TIP: I used four different borders by Bazzill on this page. Two of them started out being off white so I used my stamps and inks to colorize them and add more texture to the layout. Another one started out to be off white and I decided that a pale blue would give a bit more separation to the zig zag border so I sponged some of the Tim Holtz weathered wood ink onto it to recolor it. The bluish textured flowers also started off in plain off white and with my stamps, I blended them in with the theme of the layout.

I just wanted to share a wonderful blog I just recently found, becasue of a fellow VDBC designer, Sharon... called Scrapbook Calls. ScrapCalls is the place to find information about calls, contests and challenges that are happening in the scrapbook world.

It is also free to submit Design Team calls, Magazine Calls Challenges and Contests to be posted on the blog, if no purchase of items is required.

I highly recommend checking this blog every few days to anyone who likes to scrapbook.. there are some awesome challenges, contest, giveaways ect and something for everyone!

My Heart Belongs To You Piggy Valentine!!

I hope all is going well for all of you, in the beginning's of the New Year! I am just having a blast remaking these Valentine's I created last year, for my children to give to there Grandma, same as the Dino: I just used cardstock, chalk markers and

chalk.. This one also can be a done a little 3D, using pop dot's under the different

pieces to get the look!!

Also in the file there is a die cut of the Pig, so you can use him on the front of a card or on layouts. You can also change him a little to make Birthday cards or invite's.. just remove his wings and add a different object to his hands, for example.. a present die cut, or balloons... ect. Valentine's Day Dino Card and New Files

Wow! What a long month Dec, was for me.. And it finally coming to and end!! I have been busy designing and redesigning old files, so keep an eye out in the next month for loads of new files!!

My little guy is doing better, no ear tubs for now, so that was great news! Christmas was a blast, I took loads of pictures and am ready to do some serious scrapbooking this coming New Year!

Last year my boys each made a animal heart valentine to give to there Grandma, Here is 1 I have loaded to the store today!! Also included in the file is just a die cut of the dino, and regular eyes are also included.. incase you want to use the card as an invite or birthday card.

I used a chalk marker, chalk and cardstock to create this remake of the original cards.. but we had also used glitter, beads, pattern paper and embossing powder on the originals.. so many ways to create! Hope you enjoy using her/him!

New Thanksgiving Design's

Here are 2 new files for Thanksgiving that I have loaded to the store today.

The 1st is "Gobble til you Wobble". Great little die cut Turkey and Title for your Thanksgiving Layout's. The Turkey can also be used for making cards or other craft projects.. for example a school bullitan board.

The 2nd is "Mommy's Little Turkey" a great little title for your baby's 1st Thankgiving or those cute toddler pictures from Thanksgiving day! Also you can use the pacifier and rattle over and over on baby layout's and cards.

A Sneak Peak of My 2010 Halloween Book

Using my Bind-It-All and FileKutz By LisaJane Files

Well October is almost here!! And you all know how much I love Halloween.. I have already started my 2010 Halloween Book for my boys.. A few weeks ago I was really sick and my hubby went out and bought me a Bind-It-All... And I just love it.. So I wanted to show off some of my book, I wanted to have the pictures in My newsletter, but then my BIL was hit a killed by a car.. and I am still dealing with that, but I am trying to get back into scrapbooking to keep my mind off of Life Stressor's so I hope all of you like what I came up with so far.. I will show it completed with title's and pictures after Halloween!! So here are some of the pages and close-ups. You can find almost all of these design's I used in the VDBC store, and the other's will be added with in the next few weeks. I will also give the recipe of each 2 page layout when it is completed, so check back the 1st week of Nov to see the end results!!

The last pic is the front of the book, I am not done with it yet, but I wanted you to see the shape I designed and cut from my cutter using chipboard.. Now this was my 1st time using the Bind-It-All tool and I didn't glue my pattern paper to the chipboard before I cut it, so I messed up on the holing, it all worked out and i just covered my mistakes, but next time I will glue my pattern paper to the chipboard before I cut, so that is my tip for this project. Hope it inspires you!!

Also I will be holding a Challenge at VDBC for the October Anniversary Party starting on the 15th: "Show me what and how you use your Fav Crafting Tool" 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes... 10 files, 5 files and 1 file.. I distressed the edges with a distress tool, chalked the edges with Pebbles Chalk, used glitter glue on the Title and on the Eyeballs. And I used black frourish to make a frame around my picture.

Here is a Super Cute layout I did of a picture I took at the Florida Aquarium.. I used a pair of scallop scissors to decorate the edge of the photo mat, I used pebbles chalk, Sulyn Glitter glue, a scallop template for the edge, ribbon, prima flowers and puffy paint to create my layout. I used my newest file added to the store Sea Creatures Background Mesh Jumble.

Father's Day Cards Free Files

Ok SORRY, I wanted to start this last Sunday, but my Uncle passes away on the 8th and I have had family staying with me and then I have been playing catch up and spaced this out... so I am way late.. but hopefully some of you late night scrapper still need a Father's Day Card for tomorrow! And I would like this to be a little Challange (you don't have to do the challange to get the card files but you do have to be a follower of my blog).. so here's the details, EMAIL me for the files (don't forget to add your follower ID), I have two different father's day card or you can use them as Birthday, Annvi.,, BBQ Invatations Cards ect.. you can choose to use 1 or both, after you have the card finished, email me 2-4 pictures, front, inside, back, a close-up. I will post all enteries here on my blog, with your details of what you used and your name.. if you prefer to only use your 1st name and last intital that is fine (I am very private so I understand!).. I will accept enteries until Next Friday (25th) night at 12:00 CST. I will post as I recieve.. So these two files will be avaiable until Friday also.. One is a Shirt,Vest Card and the other is A Grill Master Card (TIP for Grill master Card...sew the back to the card for a cute look and for easy insert of the note card). Now I will have my CT choose a winner, that winner can choose a file(s) from my part of the store (= to or under 10.00) over at VDBC, you can find all my design's HERE.. for every different card you enter, you can choose 1 file from my designs (under 2.50).. so every one gets a file of there choice. I did this layout of my DH, using my 3D Butterfly Border lk00125 and Circle Flower Mesh Jumble Background lk00040, I also used Doodle Bug Glitter on my Prima Flowers. These two design's can be used on many project's layouts, cards, and you could even wrap this little butterfly border around a cupcake! Hope you enjoy using it!

So, I went camping for the weekend with my family this past weekend! It was wonderful up until today.. when the thunderstorm's started!! My two year old is deathly afraid of thunder so, we packed up and came home.. but over all it was a very relaxing weekend.. Hope everyone has a good MDay.. Sorry I have been MIA, I have just had a busy two weeks, my boys had spring break last week so I had all four of them home and boy oh boy are the a wild bunch when they are all home together for 9 days!! Hi There!

Welcome to FileKutz By LisaJane's Blog.. Now let me tell you I have NO IDEA what I am doing yet, so please bare with me while I learn this Blogger. So now that you know I am new to this, My name is Lisa, I am 31 years old, and I am a Digital Die Cut Designer.. What is that you may ask? Well I design files for others to use/cut out on there personal Die Cut Machines for Scrapbooking, Card making, and many other crafts. Some the Popular machines are: Pazzles, BossKut, BlackCat, Cricut (user's who use SCAL), Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter, Klic-N-Kut and many others. FileTypes that I am currently producing are WPC, SVG, SCUT, GSD, AI, DXF (use for KNK), and PDF's. I am open to doing other FileTypes if request. Right now I am a proud designer for VDBC and THE MORE TEAM and at this time this is where you can find and purchase my designs. I also have my own eBay store, but will be adding the designs to it at a later time: to be announced. I wanted to start to blog to share some free sample files of my work, project's using my design's and get input from all of my friends, family and customers. So I am sure this will be slow going for me.. it took me a few hrs just to get this far LOL!!
